St. Luke’s Preschool

Our Mission
Founded in 1964, the purpose of St. Luke’s Preschool is to provide a Christian learning environment for each child. We believe that your children are precious gifts from God entrusted to our care. Our focus is on their spiritual, physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development and well-being. Our goal is to assist children in development a relationship with God through Christian education as well as developing readiness skills for more formal learning which is to follow. We believe that preschool children aged 3-5 years learn best through play and exploration. We offer a wide variety of activities that allow children to develop the necessary skills, attitudes, and habits that are essential to becoming confident, thoughtful, and productive in a group setting.

She studied Early Childhood Education at MassBay Community College and holds both Director and Lead Teacher certifications from the Massachusetts Department of Early Education & Care. Elaine remains the Lead Teacher in the MWF Pre-K class and the T/Th 3-yr-old class. She lives in Dedham with her husband and two teenage sons (who both attended St. Luke’s Preschool), and enjoys reading, knitting, and shopping – but most of all her free time is spend watching her sons on the baseball field, basketball court, or at track meets.

Pam Riley (Aide/Assistant Teacher) joined the staff in 2009 after enjoying a few years as a full-time stay at home mom, and initially filled in as a substitute. Pam has a Bachelor of Science degree from UMass Amherst and spent over fifteen years working in the healthcare and financial sectors in Boston. She has always had a special place in her heart for children and especially loves the warm, nurturing aspect and Christian values taught to the preschool children at St. Luke’s. “Mrs. Pam” will be working with Mrs. MacNeil in the M/W/F Pre-K class and the T/Th 3-yr-old class. Pam lives in Dedham with her husband, Brian, and their two sons, John and Max. An avid reader and scrapbooker, Pam also loves weekend boat rides at the lake and quality time spent with her family.

Elizabeth DiMarzio (Assistant Teacher) joined the staff in 2014. “Mrs. Liz” assists in the M/W/F 3 year old program.

Denise Clifford (Aide) joined the staff in 2012 as an Aide in the M/W/F Pre-K class. “Mrs. C” has worked for many years at Oakdale school in Dedham as a lunch aide, and has also taught CCD for many years. A lifelong resident of Dedham (and a member of the DHS Athletic Hall of Fame), Denise is the mother of 4 boys: 2 attending Dedham High School and 2 away at college. Denise loves to read and enjoys spending time at the beach and with her family.

All our staff members are required to be certified in First Aid, CPR, and all necessary training through the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care, and also undergo CORI’s and background checks. Our staff also attend workshops and classes to keep current on the latest information and meet their continuing education requirements.
